About DIET Ambala
District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Ambala is a premier teacher education institution established in April 1993 under the centrally sponsored scheme of the Government of India (specifically, the Ministry of Education, formerly MHRD).
DIET Ambala functions as the academic and training hub for all elementary school teachers in the district. The institute offers the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) — a two-year pre-service teacher training programme — and conducts regular in-service training programmes for practicing teachers.
To be a center of excellence in teacher education, transforming every classroom into a vibrant learning space ,To provide outstanding teaching and service, focusing on the integral development and enhancement of Research based Teacher Education with integrity and to impart in-service training to school teachers , Heads and all other stalk holders.
To create future teachers with global outlook, to enrich the quality of the teachers and their service to the community.
- Conduct in-service training for teachers of elementary schools in the district.
- Offer pre-service teacher education through the D.El.Ed programme.
- Develop and disseminate innovative teaching-learning materials.
- Provide academic support to CRCs, BRCs, and District Education Officers.
- Carry out action research and documentation of educational innovations.
