About DIET Ambala
District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Ambala is a premier teacher education institution established in 1988 under the Government of Haryana, Department of School Education. Located in the heart of Ambala city, DIET plays a pivotal role in improving the quality of elementary education across the Ambala district.
DIET Ambala functions as the academic and training hub for all elementary school teachers in the district. The institute offers the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) — a two-year pre-service teacher training programme — and conducts regular in-service training programmes for practicing teachers.
To be a centre of excellence in teacher education, transforming every classroom into a vibrant learning space that nurtures curious, capable, and compassionate individuals.
- To provide quality pre-service and in-service teacher training programmes.
- To develop innovative curriculum materials aligned with NEP 2020.
- To support and strengthen the elementary education system in Ambala district.
- To promote research and innovation in education at the grassroots level.
- Conduct in-service training for teachers of elementary schools in the district.
- Offer pre-service teacher education through the D.El.Ed programme.
- Develop and disseminate innovative teaching-learning materials.
- Provide academic support to CRCs, BRCs, and District Education Officers.
- Carry out action research and documentation of educational innovations.
